Delhi is famous for its prime location on the map of India. It is the most accessible city where we can explore any tourist attraction or weekend getaways in North India. Many picturesque hill stations can be approached easily from Delhi and make a perfect weekend destination. We give some of them below:

  1. Nainital: An approximate drive of almost 7 hours through NH 9, Nainital is one of Delhi's frequently visited hill stations. At the Himalayas foothills, Nainital is famous for a maritime climate throughout the year, with snowfall in the winter months. Either you plan to trek the Naina peak or involve in a boat ride in the pristine blue waters of the Nainital lake to visit the Naina Devi temple, this hill station will never fail to mesmerize you no matter how many times you visit.
  2. Kanatal: A eight hours drive through NH 58, Kanatal is a lesser-known weekend destination which can allure any nature lover. You can stroll in the apple orchards and fine forests, or visit the Kodia jungle to witness the spectacular flora and fauna there. 
  3. Morni Hill: Morni, in Panchkula district, is just a 5 hours drive from Delhi and around 45 km away from Chandigarh. This small hill station at the foothills of the Shivalik Mountain Range is famous for its scenic beauty and lush greeneries. It offers excellent opportunities to the tourists for trekking, rock climbing, mountaineering, and bird-watching.
  4. Mussourie: This famous hill station in Dehradun is just a 7 hours drive from Delhi and a perfect weekend getaway. On the Garhwal mountains, Mussourie offers a spectacular view of the Himalayas and Doon Valley and contains some beautiful places of attraction like the Kempty Falls, Bhatta Falls, Cloud's End, and Mall Road, which attracts thousands of visitors not just from Delhi but from different parts of India. 
  5. Dhanaulti: This picturesque hill station is just a 7 hour's drive from Delhi and is famous for its thick Alpine forest cover comprising Oak, Pine, Deodar, and Rhododendron trees. Some favorite places of interest here are the two Eco Parks named Amber and Dhara, the Surkanda Devi Temple, long stretched potato farms, handmade shawls, and other woolen clothes of the Himalayan weavers which are found in the handicraft shops. 
  6. Kasauli: Just a 6 hour's drive from Delhi. This mesmerizing hill station is in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh and attracts innumerable tourists throughout the year for its spectacular scenic beauty fantastic climate. Surrounded by the Dhauladhar ranges and containing prime places of scenic beauty like Christ Church, Monkey Point, Mall Road, Sunrise Point, Sabathu Fort, etc., this hill station is one of the most favorite weekend destinations from Delhi. 
  7. Chakrata: A seven and a half hours drive through NH 44, Chakrata is also a less traversed location situated away from the local crowd. Taking a bath in the Tiger's fresh waterfalls in the middle of the pine and deodar forests is an excellent way of relaxation and enjoyment. You can also visit the spectacular forests at Koti Kanasar or explore the famous Lakhamandal temple, which has a shrine of Lord Shiva made in white graphite stone.
